The Adam and Fahs families are so grateful for your support and understanding during their time of loss. Dennis and Joe’s passings leave huge holes in our lives. Good friends always make the difficult times in life easier to manage.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the families of Hal Sorenson and Mike Ariza on their recent passing.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE CONTINUES
A HUGE thanks to those families who have sent in their membership renewals AND new memberships! Lacking our Annual Meeting, everyone’s schedule is a bit disrupted! Memberships run June 1st – May 31st each year. But, of course, new members are welcome all year long! The 2024-25 membership form can be found by clicking here. A copy of the membership form on our website. We have mailed a copy of the membership form to those members who requested a paper copy.

WATER
Please continue to watch your email for information on the repair and maintenance of the water system by the BMDWCA. It behooves us all to conserve our water as best we can. Please, make sure you turn your water off when leaving, check for leaks – especially toilets and outdoor faucets – as we are enjoy our time in the Brazos this summer. Contact a BMDWCA board member with any questions or concerns you might have.

ROADS
The roads are a little rough in places. Between the installation of fiber-optic cable by Windstream and the necessary BMDWCA system repairs, work is needed. The UBPOA board is working with Chris Dennison of the BMDCWA to contact Windstream and see how they might help repair the damage caused with their cable installation. As you return your 2024-2025 membership forms, please, consider generously donating to the road fund.

• August 20th to Sept 1st Local Appreciation Days for the Cumbres Toltec RR – reduced tickets for locals
• August 8th to 11th Chama Days
• September 7th UBPOA Annual Picnic – We will hold our required Annual Meeting at the picnic. Burgers and hot dogs and fixings supplied by the UBPOA. Members, please bring salads, desserts, side
• dishes, and drinks. More to follow.

UBPOA BOARD UPDATES
The UBPOA’s By-Laws require three to nine Board members. As always, more hands can make lighter work!
A board term is defined as three-years. The Board meets in the Brazos during the summer, generally a half a
dozen times. We had one Zoom meeting in 2022. Per UBPOA By-Laws tasks of the Board include the upkeep
of the Upper Brazos Pond, sponsoring two general membership meetings a year, the Annual Memorial Day
Membership meeting and Labor Day Weekend Picnic, and the maintenance of the main roads within our
community. Of course, all of this depends on membership numbers and funds available. Even more
important than these tasks is the opportunity to get to know and support the members of our community!

Thank you to Tracy Martinez for volunteering to join the UBPOA Board!! Please consider tossing your
hat “onto the board.” We truly would like 3 to 5 additional board members. New ideas and outlook
always make for a better opportunity for all.
