The Upper Brazos Property Owner’s Association Board is committed to being a resource for information and support to property owners in the Upper Brazos.
Hello everyone!
We have bad news with our deer herd in the Brazos Canyon. There is a real possibility that our herd is infected with the Paloma Virus, according to the wildlife veterinarian. It causes warts, and lesions, and it is highly contagious. Lonnie Morales, our Game Warden Officer, is very much encouraging everyone to stop feeding the deer. This virus will spread through the feeder’s, along with any other normal herd contacts.
If you do have feeders, please wash them out with a high concentration of bleach, and then refrain from feeding the deer until at least such time as this virus runs its course. I am attaching some photos, of this little buck from this morning, to help you recognize this problem.
If any of you see a deer with this problem, please call Lonnie Morales, 575-429-9311 or Mark Bundron 505-331-4872.
Thank you everyone for your cooperation, and help with this matter.
We will be sure to keep you all informed of any further developments.
Thank you,
Karen Adam
