Hello UBPOA members!!

As many of you know, the roads throughout Upper Brazos Estates require regular maintenance and repairs. The Board has been working with road maintenance experts to identify the areas most in need of attention and to develop a long-term plan for maintaining our roads as funding allows.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to the Road Fund. Your generosity and support make it possible for us to continue caring for our community’s roads, and we truly appreciate your commitment to Upper Brazos Estates.

After careful consideration, the Board has decided to postpone grading the roads for the time being for two important reasons:

1. The Water Board will soon be repairing or replacing water valves that are located in the middle of several roads, which will require sections of those roads to be excavated.
2. We have also been informed that Kinetic by Windstream plans to install fiber-optic lines in our area. This project is expected to involve digging alongside portions of our roads.

Because these projects are likely to disturb the roads, we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to wait before investing in grading. This will help ensure that the Road Fund is used as wisely and effectively as possible. Please know that the funds you have generously donated will be set aside and used specifically for road grading and maintenance once these projects have been completed.

In the meantime, we will be hiring a contractor to fill and repair potholes on the roads that need the most immediate attention to help keep them as safe and passable as possible.

As we move toward the fall and winter months, we’d also like to ask for your help in protecting our roads. Please take a few minutes to clear any debris from the ditches and, especially, the culverts on or near your property. Keeping culverts clean allows rainwater to flow properly, helps prevent erosion, and goes a long way toward preserving the condition of our roads.
