Good morning Brazos neighbors,

We wanted to share another sad incident in our neighborhood because it affects all of us and is worth passing along.

Sadly, witnesses said two cars were speeding on 512 and hit a fawn. The fawn was badly hurt and had to be put down. It is heartbreaking to think that the young fawn was simply following its mother. We hope this sad loss reminds us all to slow down, stay alert, and take extra care on the road.

As a friendly reminder, the speed limit on 512 is 35 mph until the fire station, then 15 mph past the fire station, and 25 mph from there to Corkins.

This reminder is for the safety of our wildlife and our neighbors. People are often walking, jogging, Biking, and working along 512, so it is important that we all look out for one another.

We do not believe anyone would intentionally hurt a deer, and this was likely a very unfortunate accident. Still, we can all help by being more mindful of the wildlife, our neighbors, and each other whenever we travel on 512.

Thank you! UBPOA
